Many thanks to JUSTIN HAGER for donating the prop to King's School of Aeronautics pictured above!!!

The NEW Oral & Practical went into effect October 01, 2015.

ENROLL NOW!! OUR SCHEDULED A&P is every 1st and 3rd Monday. ($1195.00)

The DMEs' have increased their price to $1000.00 for the O&P. King's School of Aeronautics now has a BRAND-NEW, HANDS-ON
Oral & Practical Preparation course to prepare our students for this new O&P. It is free to our students at this time and included in the complete A&P tuition of $1195.00 The total time for completion of the King's NEW A&P course is 10-12 days. As we advertised 40 years ago because we guarantee the course, we cannot guarantee the time.

Notice!!!

Are you a graduate of a 147 FAA approved school?

Through special arrangement through the FAA, you can now attend King's School of Aeronautics, take the A&P computer tests, and go to the DME without the FAA signing your 8610-2 forms. The school can prepare those forms for you.

Call for details now. Have your 147 school diploma at hand when you call.

PLEASE READ
(Don't believe the hogwash.)

Certain schools are attempting to sway our potential students into their school by offering a free computer re-test should the student fail a test on the first attempt. Well, if they have a high failure rate, they need to do something about it. At King's, we don't need this policy. No failure, no free test. We have confidence in our training and our students. Within a few minutes after training is completed, King's students are sitting for the test with no lost time.

Everyone attending this school for the A&P written preparation must have 2 copies of the FAA Form 8610-2 with them. When obtaining this form, be sure the FAA Inspector signs both copies of the form. Their signature must be an original on each copy. The DME can not provide the O&P Test without both copies having original signatures. (This excludes FAA 147 school graduates.)

Be prepared to hand-carry these two copies to the FAA Inspector. You should not try to obtain the FAA authorization by phone or any other method such as Fax or e-mail.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS CFR 65.71.

To be eligible for a Mechanic Certificate and associated ratings, a person must

(1) Be at least 18 years of age.

(2) Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

(3) Have passed all the prescribe tests within a period of 24 months.

There are four (4) requirements to obtain a aircraft mechanics certificate:

    (*) Experience

(*) Writtens (Also called          computer tests. They are the  same.)

  (*) Oral

  (*) Practical

To do yourself a favor, you should study CFR 65.71, 65.73, 65.75, 65.77, 65.79, 65.81, 65.85, and 65.87.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS CFR 65.77

Each applicant for a mechanic certificate or rating must present either an appropriate graduation certificate or certificate of completion from a certified aviation maintenance technician school (FAA Approved School) or documentary evidence, satisfactory to the Administrator, of-

(a) At least 18 months of practical experience with the procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in constructing, maintaining, or altering airframes,or powerplants appropriate to the rating saught; or

As a member in the military your MOS (DD-214) may give you the experience required by the Federal Aviation Administration for the Airframe and/or Powerplant certificate.

When your experience is 18 or 30 months working under the supervision of a Certified A&P Mechanic, IA, Shop Superintendent, or Maintenance Officer, you must provide documentary evidence to the FAA of that experience. Click HERE to download a copy of our idea of a “Mechanics Experience” letter. Your Supervisor should not copy this letter word for word, but use it as a guide.

Do not bring this experience letter or a DD-214 Form to enroll. Only the 8610-2 Form can be used to enroll.

A&P Enrollment

The FAA should sign both copies of your 8610-2 if you have a mechanics experience letter or a military form DD214. 147 school graduates need no FAA signatures.

A&P COMPUTER TEST PREPARATION TUITION

A&P ENROLLMENT DATES ARE THE FIRST AND THIRD MONDAYS OF EACH MONTH.
The complete tuition cost will be $1195.00 (REMEMBER THIS FEE COVERS OUR NEW ORAL & PRACTICAL PREP).

Tuition may be paid by Money Order, Cash, Cashiers Check, American Express, Visa, and Master Card. Uncertified personal checks are not accepted from any company or individual.
King’s has had thousands of students in class since 1973. Every student is different and we have to adjust training sometimes to get the best and fastest results for that student. Each section, General, Airframe, and Powerplant will take from two (2) to three (3) days to accomplish. Many students will finish all three written tests in about 6 days, others may need 7 - 8 days. You must be prepared to extend the time if necessary. Because we guarantee the course, we cannot guarantee the time.

We require a $100.00 deposit to be made at this time. Almost everyone uses a credit card over the phone, or you may include the card info on your “online” enrollment form. On the morning of the first day of school, we need: two 8610-2 forms and two photo IDs. (The second ID is to be used if something is wrong with the first.) Non US students must also bring a current passport. The balance of tuition is due at this time. (No personal checks, please.) All books, training material, and calculators are furnished. Don’t bring Hi-lighters, we have plenty. Also, please don’t bring study material from another school or book company or any laptop computers to our classroom. After 43 years, we have found that this material is not beneficial with our training.

A&P TUITION
$1,195.00 complete. This price includes 3 FAA computer tests and all books and materials used in the classroom.
With a refundable deposit of $100.00 you can attend class for up to two years for this reduced tuition fee.
(For partial A&P tuition, such as Airframe or Powerplant, please call the school.)

Oral and Practical (O&P)
The computer tests for the rating or ratings that you are pursuing must be passed with a score of 70% or more, within the proceeding twenty-four (24) months, before taking the O&P.  CFR 65.71(a)(3) states that you must have passed all of the prescribed tests within that period of twenty-four (24) months.  This would include computer tests, oral, and practical.

The person appointed by the FAA to provide the oral and practical is called a DME (Designated Mechanic Examiner).  After all computer tests are passed, then you have to take the O&P from a DME.

All students are different, and the time needed to complete all testing will therefore be different. Because we guarantee  the course, we cannot guarantee the time. The O&P preparation, in conjunction with the O&P, is arranged after the student is in school.
