Enrollment is easy, just call the school. A $100.00 deposit will hold this tuition price for two years. The deposit is completely refundable with a 3-day cancellation notice.

The Inspection Authorization Course

The rules that govern the IA are Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR’s) 65.91, 65.92, 65.93, and 65.95. No CFR 65.94 exists at this time.

The term “FAR” is no longer used, and will not appear on current study material or FAA tests.

You should read and understand these CFR’s before visiting the FAA.dfxfbxfbsffb

They must sign the FAA form 8610-1 before you can test for the IA.

This form is only good for 30 days, so be prepared to attend King’s during that time frame and of course, bring the form.

CFR 65.91 requires that you:

* have held the Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Power-plant ratings both of which have been in effect for a total of three years.

* have been actively engaged for at least the two year period before the date you apply.

What is actively engaged?

Actively Engaged means having an active role in exercising the privileges of an A&P mechanic certificate in the maintenance of civil aircraft.

Applicants who inspect, overhaul, repair, preserve, or replace parts on an aircraft, or who supervise (i.e., direct and inspect) those activities, are actively engaged.  Most inspectors want this experience to be obtained in a forty hour work week.

* have a fixed base of operations.

* have available the equipment, facilities and inspection data necessary to properly inspect airframes, power-plants, or any related part or appliance.

* pass the FAA written test for the IA.

NOTICE:
The Inspection Authorization is an extension of your A&P Certificate.
It is NOT a Rating. AIRFRAME and POWERPLANT are Ratings.

King’s introduced The Original Inspection Authorization Study Guide in the first IA school ever open to the general public in 1973. It is a 4 day course, however because we guarantee the course, we cannot guarantee the time.

Tuition for the IA is $550 and includes all books and material used in the course. A $100 deposit will lock in the rate of $550 in for two years. The testing fee of $165 is in addition to the tuition and is paid directly to the testing center by the student.

We accept cash, cashier checks, money orders and major credit cards except Discover. We might take them in the future, but not at this time.

A refundable deposit of $100, to assure you a seat, is required and can be made on the initial contact with the school. The balance must be paid upon the beginning of class, and must be accompanied with 2 copies of identification with a picture and /or Passport. Non USA students must provide a current Passport.

Please call or utilize our on-line enrollment form or ask for a brochure.

Thank You.
